In advance of a big reveal on Wednesday, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive
over what Apple will launch, as have leaks and renders based on iPhone X reports.
Now, the Android community is getting a glimpse of what it could see at the
California event.

In an unexpected turn of events, Qualcomm has accidentally confirmed that its new
flagship chip, the Snapdragon 845, will be featured on the latest version of the Apple smartphone. The chipmaker's news blog posted an infographic (above) that provided details on what features users will experience on Apple's next generation device.

While the details on what's included in the Snapdragon 845 were accurate,
details on the chipset's release date were a bit off. The blog said that the chipset
will be announced at the end of November at the yearly Tech Summit in Hawaii,
but now it seems the announcement will happen at the Snapdragon Tech Summit,
which kicks off today in Maui, Hawaii.
It's easy to think that the chipmaker decided to change the wording after revealing
the chipset's partnership with Apple at the tech summit, but a more likely scenario
is that the chipmaker forgot to update its website in time for the expected
announcement.

Two of the biggest names in tech are gearing up for their most important product
launches of the year, with Apple set to unveil new iPhones at its "special event"
on Wednesday, and Samsung is scheduled to reveal its Galaxy S10 range on
February 20th. With the forthcoming devices expected to feature new screens,
improved cameras, and a whole host of other exciting features, they are sure to
be highly anticipated by iPhone and Android fans alike. However, in the lead up
to the events, questions are being raised over the legitimacy of some of the
details that have been revealed, thanks to a high profile leak.

Before any details are officially announced, the rumour mill is buzzing with
rumours of what Apple is planning to bring to the table. But rather than
speculating what the latest iPhone will look like, many are concerned
over what its screen might look like. According to Bloomberg's Mark
Gurman, all three iPhones to be launched this year will adopt the
same design and the screen will be updated to support an ultra
high definition (UHD) resolution of 1,440 pixels by 1,440 pixels.
For reference, that's four times the resolution of the current iPhone
XR's LCD screen and just over two times the resolution of the iPhone
XS Max's Super Retina display. The latest leak from Bloomberg,
obtained by 9to5Mac, also indicates that the XR will retain its 6.1-inch
display while the XS and XS Max will both be upgraded to 6.5-inch screens.
Gurman also reports that there will be a third "budget" 6.1-inch model,
but it will cost the same as the $749 iPhone 8. The report has been
rubbished by the Verge, which points out that the only aspect of the
new report that has been confirmed is the display size for the 6.5-inch XS Max.

It may be a moot point anyway, as this isn't the first report of a new
iPhone with a larger screen. Last month, AppleInsider also reported
that the 2019 iPhone range will boast a new design with a 5.8-inch OLED
screen, and that the 5.8-inch model will cost the same as the current iPhone XS
(which starts at $999). While the report states that Apple will still use LCD
screens for its entry-level and lower cost models, the flagship XS and XS
Max screens will sport the new technology, and they will be the biggest,
brightest and sharpest ever to grace an iPhone.
